CHALLENGE: 

1) IT Business Transformation:
Major IT re-engineering and transformation project to establish and map key EA Business Processes and integrate them with newly developed EA and IT Operational Model, spanning Relationship, Strategy and Planning, Governance, Enterprise Architecture, PMO and IT Operations.

2) Governance, Capability and Technology Roadmaps:
Perpetual project to create, develop and maintain corporate Capability and Technology Roadmaps in support of Future State Architecture.

3) BI Reference Architecture (SAP and MS Corporate BI):
Project to establish SAP BI Governance, Best Practices for development and Center of Excellence

4) IFRS – International Financial Reporting System Architecture and Implementation:
Large $7.5M remediation project to convert Finance Systems from Canadian GAAP to IFRS.

5) EYERIS – Corporate Costing System Architecture and Implementation:
Large $8M BI project to provide environment for systematic, consistent and reliable analytical capabilities for cost analysis and projection.

6) HCM – Human Capital Management – Organization Structure and Interfaces:

Remediation project to provide clear and reliable set of interfaces to the People Data and Organization Structure references consistently through all existing MIS systems.

7) CodeExcellence:
Project introducing and reinforcing quality coding standards and active code quality monitoring and notification in the SAP ABAP Development, Quality and Acceptance and Production environments.

OUTCOMES: 

• Managed, maintained and influenced capital IT software projects with total budget over $20M;
• Organized and oversaw selection and creation of the project teams, of internal and external experts and developers. Managed simultaneously 4 to 6 project teams of average size 7-10 developers and SME’s and interacted with external vendor teams;
• Planned, directed and managed development of Future State Architecture Vision for Corporate LOB;
• Created, developed and supervised maintenance of Capability and Technology Roadmaps, IT Strategic Account Plans and aligned them with IT strategic investment decisions;
• Assured quality of work provided by developers, suppliers and vendors by establishment and reinforcement of delivery standards;
• Monitored and suggested improvements to enhance systems capabilities in line with strategic directions and Future State Architecture, by introduction of SIP – Service Improvement Process (itSMF, ITIL, CMMI);
• Supervised In-Flight projects from the PMO, ARB and DC perspective, assuring adherence to the respective Governance Processes and accepted IT Principles, Directions and Operational Frameworks (ITIL, itSMF, CMMI);
• Established number of PM and EA standards by cooperating with PMO and IT Transformation Group, utilizing Gartner and DMR-Fujitsu Macroscope Methodology;
• Re-developed IT and EA principles and identified the CSF and Operational Metrics for EA;
• Proposed and established the EA Competency and Practice which included Architect Competency Roles Definitions and Skills Sets, Roles and Responsibilities, as well as EA Business Processes and Procedures definitions and alignment with overall Operational Model;
• Supervised work of the internal experts leading to establishment of IT EA and IT PMO structures, processes, Governance Model, and identified standard deliverables, and documentation templates based on DMR – Fujitsu Macroscope Methodology including business process modelling and documentation capturing it in UML Activity Diagrams/ Swim Lane representation in MS Visio;
• Advised and directed workgroup of vendors SME’s working towards establishment of BI Governance and BI Best Practices Center of Excellence to guide, steer and govern future BI development; and
• Provided feedback on development to Corporate Executives, by the way of presentations, briefings and workshops.
